The calculator should work OK with any browser however Chrome does appear to be less responsive and slightly slower.
Also note the Tax Return Info , Portfolio and Summary Info buttons are not displayed when using Chrome
because, for some reason, there is a serious delay when the mouse clicks are processed.
- Have the calculations been verified?
Yes the calculator has been tested extensively over the years. Initially some users did report some errors, all of which have subsequently been resolved.
- In live portfolio some of the prices shown are wrong. Why?
The bid prices for each stock in your portfolio are grabbed from Yahoo Finance.
Usually during trading hours the bid prices appear to be correct. However when the market is closed the bid price is often not available. In this case the calculator grabs the price of the last trade.
Please also be aware of the extra time taken to grab the stock prices from Yahoo. This could be an extra 30 seconds or more depending on how many stocks
are in your portfolio. Uncheck this option to reduce the calculation time.
- Does the calculator cope with share restructurings?
Yes but only 1 restructuring is permitted for each stock. See here
